Abdel-Latif Noussir has explained that Wydad Casablanca are expecting a tough match when they face Al Ahly in a midweek CAF Champions League fixture.
The Moroccans will host the Egyptian giants in a Group D clash at Stade Mohamed V, with the visitors looking to take a major step toward the quarterfinals.
Wydad need a victory to bounce back from their 2-0 loss at the hands of the Red Devils when the teams first met earlier this month, but Noussir reckons it will be a tall order.
“This will be a hard match especially because it will be during the holy month of Ramadan,” Noussir told Morocco’s Arriadia Sport TV channel, as quoted by KingFut.
“We are still trying to adapt to the current conditions after not getting a break from football after the season ended in Morocco.”
The Wydad defender added, “These are not excuses but that’s how it has been in the past period, however, we will do our best to achieve a good result when we face Al Ahly.”
The match between the North African rivals will kick-off at midnight tonight.
