The England midfielder has not played a first-team game for either Everton or his new club this term, but is preparing to make his Chelsea debut in their FA Cup tie with Norwich on January 17.
Despite Barkley still working his way back to full fitness, though, he looked sharp in training at Cobham.
The former Toffees man will be desperate to impress his team-mates and manager in the coming weeks and he will have done just that with a stunning goal.
Barkley, known to be comfortable with either foot, scored an absolute belter with his left boot past Willy Caballero which took the goalkeeper by surprise.
The midfielder proved he has more to his game than just power later on in the session as he sat Trevoh Chalobah down on the turf before finishing confidently.
Asked about when Barkley will be fit to play, Conte said: ‘We must be satisfied with his physical condition. For sure he’s working, very hard.
‘I think that maybe in the next game against Norwich he could be available, be in contention. I hope for this.
