Video: Southampton’s Kids Put Sofiane Boufal Under Pressure With Headers and Volleys Drill
Southampton‘s youngsters got the chance to catch up with first-team star Sofiane Boufal this week, as they put the winger through a nervy passing drill.
Boufal scored one of the goals of the season against West Brom last month, a strike which undoubtedly endeared him to Southampton’s supporters.
However, despite showing off some incredible skill during that goal against the Baggies, Southampton’s U15s/U16s were still keen to put the 24-year-old’s technique to the test this week.
With Boufal stood on one side of a hedge and the Saints’ youngsters on the other, the 16-strong group complete an outstanding headers and volleys drill, without the ball touching the ground.
You’re a bare-faced liar if you won’t admit to being nervous watching this one:

The French-born Morocco international moved to Saint Mary’s last summer, leaving Ligue 1 side Lille in a deal reported to be worth £16 million.
And while Boufal is yet to justify that price tag with consistent performances on the pitch, his willingness to touch base with the club’s youngsters will definitely earn him brownie points with the fans.
