Manchester United and DHL kicked off the ‘worldwide games of football’ in July, inviting Reds’ fans to take part in the global competition by registering to host a match in their local community. And so far, over 2,400 entries have been received.
The UNITED. DELIVERED. football is being delivered by DHL to selected winning entries, along with DHL-supplied match kits, for each host to use during their match. More than 100 games will be played throughout the season, with games spread across the globe and supported by DHL’s global logistics network.
The ultimate prize is the trip of a lifetime as one lucky match host will be given the opportunity to bring their team to Manchester to take part in the final UNITED. DELIVERED. match of the season at Old Trafford.
Fans can still take part in the worldwide football competition which got under way in August with the first stop in Cape Town, South Africa.
From a simple dirt pitch under blue Kenyan skies to a patch of covered five-a-side turf in Singapore, UNITED. DELIVERED. has already brought the club’s diverse global family of supporters together. In just a few short weeks, the competition has shown how united Reds fans truly are. In Kenya, match host, Victor Auma, wanted to deliver something special to his three-year old team – a group of students who couldn’t make their school squad “but still want to enjoy the game and keep fit.”
