Rural Northumberland is a popular spot for holiday lets and this five-bed farmhouse has the potential to become one.

Situated just off Pennine Way, Bellingham, the property is being marketed by Youngs RPS for £275,000.

The former farmhouse could be turned into a holiday let, if the appropriate permission is given by the council, but any buyer would have to thoroughly renovate the stone-built property.

The farmhouse needs an extensive renovation

Aside from the bathrooms, it looks like the entire farmhouse needs a refurbishment.

The kitchen and living spaces, especially, need a lot of work to get them up to scratch if you were to move in and make this a family home or entertain the idea of letting it out to tourists.

The estate agents say the Bellingham farmhouse could make a great holiday let

Bellingham is close to Kielder Water, which is around nine miles away, while Hadrian’s Wall is about 12 miles to the south. Hexham is close too, and the house is surrounded by Northumbrian countryside.

Cyclists riding the coast-to-coast route also stop off in Bellingham, and the area is popular with ramblers.

The property has outbuildings and is surrounded by countryside

There are pubs, restaurants and shops in the village itself.

The house has an annexe and range of outbuildings, and the estate agents say there is potential for further redevelopment.
