Tottenham Hotspur were the beneficiaries of an awful offside decision in their opening Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was denied a clear goal.
Spurs led the Bundesliga giants 2-1 courtesy of goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min but were incredibly fortunate to remain ahead moments later.
Andriy Yarmolenko had already scored one sublime goal for the visitors and they should have been level after 13 minutes in the second half as Aubameyang latched onto a brilliant cross from Mahmoud Dahoud before rifling it past Hugo Lloris in the Tottenham goal.
But disaster for Peter Bosz’s side struck as Aubameyang was ruled offside rather than the goal counting.
