Video: Sevilla Manager Eduardo Berizzo Sent Off at Anfield For Throwing Ball Away
With the Spanish cracks trailing 2-1 at the time, you’d have thought Berizzo would’ve been keen to get the match restarted at every opportunity, but he seemed quite keen on wasting time instead.
After the ball crossed the line for a Liverpool throw, Berizzo caught it midair and, at first, appeared to offer it to Gomez – only to launch it away when the Englishman attempted to grab it.
He’d already done it once earlier in the match, and it seems a second time was one too many for the referee:
Particularly when your team is losing, why would you behave like this? Is throwing the ball away like a spoiled child really necessary? Or is he well within his rights?
What do you think?
