AS Roma football director Monchi wants to bring Aleksandar Kolarov to Rome, according to Italian outlet Corriera della Sera.

AS Roma are currently working on two deals, one for Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel while another for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is taking place. Roma are also in the market for a left-back and with first choice Jetro Willems ‘steps away’ from a move to German side Eintracht Frankfurt, Monchi has set his eyes on Manchester City’s Aleks Kolarov.

Corriera della Sera say that Manchester City will demand a €10m (£8.8m) transfer fee for Kolarov who still has a year to run on his contract. Roma could manage that but the real obstacle in a move would be Kolarov’s annual €4.5m (£3.95m) salary, a figure too high for Roma’s liking.
