It was a performance that saw Pep Guardiola’s side return to their imperious best after three consecutive defeats across all competitions, but which stars stood out in that emphatic display at Wembley? Raheem Sterling – 8/10: In some ways, Sterling would probably have received a higher average rating had he not been so involved in the match and his contributions were limited to merely the penalty he won off Hugo Lloris and the goal he scored when the ball dropped so kindly to him in the box. Inevitably though, the England international’s mistakes are difficult to ignore – before scoring he missed a glorious chance after taking the ball around the Tottenham goalkeeper, and he later failed to slip through Gabriel Jesus on the counter-attack for a simple goal.
