Rangers are days away from making Russell Martin their third signing of the January transfer window, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims that Martin, 32, is due to join the Gers on loan from Norwich within the coming week, following Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy in moving to Ibrox on temporary deals from south of the border.
It is understood that Graeme Murty has an in-depth knowledge about Martin from his previous spell at Carrow Road and has looked at the 29-times Scotland international to bolster his defensive options.
The Daily Record has previously reported that a swoop for Martin may mean that Bruno Alves quits Ibrox if he slips down the pecking order.
Senior player Alves was said to be anxious over his standing in the Light Blues squad, especially with a spot on the plane to the World Cup in Russia in the summer hanging in the balance.
Martin has made just seven appearances for Norwich in all competitions this season.
The defensive warrior has previously had spells at Wycombe and Peterborough but never turned out for a side north of the border.
