Rangers development squad were denied a big win over AZ Alkmaar after the Dutch giants nested a late penalty.

The young Rangers side were missing more senior players with Ross McCrorie, Myles Beerman, Jordan Thompson and Jamie Barjonas with the first team and Liam Burt, Aidan Wilson, Jordan Houston, Jack Thomson, Ross Lyon and Rhys Breen injured.
AZ had taken the lead early on through Kenennu Lont but Ryan Hardie’s double turned the game around.
The Rangers skipper equalised after good work from Finnish youngster Serge Atakayi down the right and he rounded the keeper in the second half to put his side in front.
Graeme Murty was dealt a blow just before half time when keeper Aidan McAdams had to be replaced after picking up an injury.
And just when it looked like Rangers would be returning to Glasgow with a win, Kurban stepped up to net from 12 yards.
