DARREN RANDOLPH’S FUTURE at West Ham is becoming increasingly uncertain with the news Joe Hart is today undergoing a medical ahead of a proposed loan move to the Hammers.
England goalkeeper Hart is now poised to finalise his switch to the London Stadium on a season-long loan move after spending last season with Italian side Torino.
Hart, who has 71 England caps, is expected to have the option of making the move permanent, while City will pay some of his wages as part of the deal.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has identified bringing in a new first choice goalkeeper as one of his primary targets this summer, leaving Randolph’s future at the club in serious doubt.
The Ireland shot stopper was in and out of the team last season as he battled for the number one jersey with Adrian but with Hart’s arrival expected to be confirmed this week, the Bray native’s hopes of regaining the position could be over.
There were reports last week that newly-promoted Newcastle would be interested in bringing Randolph to St James’ Park should the Hammers deem his services surplus to requirement.
The 29-year-old signed a four-year deal with West Ham last summer after arriving from Birmingham City in 2015.
With World Cup qualification on the line over the coming months, Randolph will want to remain in Martin O’Neill’s plans by playing first team football.
