Borussia Dortmund will be looking to star forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to lead the club to victory over Bayern Munich this weekend.
The Black and Yellows have struggled of late, with the Gabon international’s goals have seemingly also dried up.
The 28-year-old hasn’t scored in four games since bagging a brace in a 3-2 defeat to RP Leipzig in mid October.
Aubameyang’s troubles have coincided with a Dortmund’s demise with the club’s only win in October coming away to FC Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal.
Frustrating results against Eintracht Frankfurt and and Hannover 96 have been sandwiched in between successive 1-1 draws against APOEL Nicosia in the UEFA Champions League.
As a result, the club have not only coughed up their position atop the log standings, but also seen their European dreams go up in smoke.
An opportunity for redemption comes in the form of Bayern this weekend, with the heavyweight tussle set to take place at the Signal Iduna Park this Saturday.
The latest meeting between the two club’s ended in a 7-6 penalty shoot-out win for Bayern in the Super Cup.
Aubameyang on target as the game ended at 2-2 after 120 minutes of football, before Dortmund fell short from the spot.
