Paul Scholes Set To Become Manager After Being Interviewed By His Dream Club

Paul Scholes has been interviewed for the vacant managerial post at Oldham Athletic, as per Sky Sports.

According to several media reports, the League One outfit is keen to make Scholes their manager, although no official confirmation has come from the club. Scholes featured in 717 games for Manchester United, and has been one of the most decorated English footballers of all time.

Scholes does not have any managerial experience, but is said to have met Oldham officials to replace former boss John Sheridan, who was sacked last month. For the meantime, the club has appointed Richie Wellens on a temporary basis.

With Scholes in the mix, Richie could face competition for the job as a permanent manager, despite having openly stated that he wants the job. He has led Oldham to three consecutive wins in the League One, and picked the side from the bottom to 19th place in the current table.



Oldham have a long season ahead, and if Scholes does become their new manager, he will have to fight hard to fend off relegation and stay up. The decorated midfielder does possess some previous coaching experience, having coached Manchester United for a brief period following the sacking of David Moyes in 2014.
