Roma winger Mohamed Salah is flying to Liverpool from Cairo on Tuesday, with the winger expected to seal a move to the Reds on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old has been the subject of interest from Jurgen Klopp throughout the summer, with talks ongoing between the two clubs.

While Liverpool’s initial £28 million offer was rejected, they are now set to seal a deal worth around £35 million, making Salah their second signing of the summer.

According to the Telegraph, corroborating claims from Egyptian journalist Haby Elmedany, Salah is heading to Merseyside to sign a contract and undergo a medical.

The Mirror suggest that the winger will put pen to paper on a five-year, £90,000-a-week contract, which would put him in the region of Liverpool’s recent contract extensions.

Elmedany revealed that Salah’s intended flight will land at London Heathrow at 9.05pm BST, with it likely that he would then head up to Liverpool the following morning:

Salah would follow Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke in joining the Reds ahead of the 2017/18 campaign, and become the second player signed for over £30 million since Klopp’s arrival in 2015.

The German is overseeing a major upturn in fortunes at Anfield, with Liverpool set for a Champions League playoff clash in August after finishing fourth in the Premier League.

Acquiring players of the calibre of Salah is therefore paramount, as the winger has the pace, movement and cutting edge needed to complement the likes of Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.

Southampton‘s Virgil van Dijk, RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita and Arsenal‘s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are believed to be Klopp’s other preferred targets.
