Jurgen Klopp rejected the chance to become Manchester United manager in 2013, it’s been claimed.
The Liverpool manager was reportedly sounded out about succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson but told Manchester United to look elsewhere despite harbouring ambitions to take the helm at Old Trafford.
The Telegraph claim senior sources at Manchester United have confirmed Klopp was among a few candidates considered to replace Ferguson before David Moyes eventually landed the job.
How far the talks got are unclear, but Klopp ended any chance of taking the Old Trafford reins by informing them he wanted to stay at Borussia Dortmund.
