Lisbon Lion Jim Craig Says He Was Surprised By the ‘Poor State’ of Ibrox
Craig will forever be a hero to the Hoops support after playing his part in the club’s iconic European Cup win of 1967, and still regularly attends Celtic functions on behalf of the club.
With the Hoops celebrating the 50th anniversary of their historic win in Lisbon last season, Craig and his fellow Lions spent a lot of the campaign on the road with the current first-team – including to the home of their bitter rivals.
Speaking in an interview with the CeltsAreHere, Craig said: “Brendan Rodgers has done a great job since he came in and I would not be at all surprised if we picked up another Treble at the end of the season.
“However, it would also be fair to say to say that the quality of the opposition in Scotland is not all it might be.
“Even our traditional rivals from across the city are not in the best of financial health and I was really surprised at the poor state inside of Ibrox when I attended one of the derbies last season.
“Quite a number of clubs are in financial trouble and do not have the cash to bring in players of a better standard than the ones already in the club
