After an to discuss rescinding his Juventus contract, Brazilian right-back Dani Alves is now a free agent.

Turin-based Brazilian journalist Clara Albuquerque has broken the news – or rather, given an update on the big story from earlier today – that the Serie A champions have agreed to tear up the 34-year-old’s contract.

Alves is now free to decide his next club, with both Manchester City and Chelsea after him. Most signs point to him joining Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, but until he signs on the dotted line, Antonio Conte’s interest must also been taken seriously.

Should he arrive at City, he will join on a free contract – a huge coup for the Blues – and will take one of the two vacant right-back spots. The other is expected to be taken by Kyle Walker should an agreement be struck with Tottenham, although there are still from Portugal of interest in Nélson Semedo.
