Sam Hart’s stunning late free-kick sealed a 2-1 victory for Liverpool Under-23s against Arsenal Under-23s at Boreham Wood.
The 20-year-old defender was the hero as Neil Critchley’s side made it three wins out of three in Premier League 2.
Danny Ings got more game time under his belt as he builds up his match fitness after long-term injury and the England international went close early on after being released by Yan Dhanda’s through ball.
Ings then nodded wide and Dhanda saw his effort tipped over the bar.
The Gunners broke the deadlock early in the second half. Reiss Nelson found himself one on one against Kamil Grabara and finished in style.
With 20 minutes to go Liverpool were level.
Rhian Brewster fired home left-footed and then Hart’s late set-piece sealed maximum points.
