Guardiola confirmed the Brazil international visited Dr Ramon Cugat in Barcelona on Thursday to be assessed and suggested Jesus could make a remarkable return in time for the club’s Champions League last-16 tie against Basel on February 13.
He told reporters at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Liverpool: ‘Yesterday he was in Barcelona with Dr Cugat and at the end the news is quite good. I think two or three weeks, against Basel in the Champions League, he could be ready.’
Unbeaten City have a commanding 15-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, having only dropped four points throughout the season so far.
