The latest player being linked with Manchester United is Celtic left back, Kieran Tierney. The Scottish youngster is a sensation in his homeland and is rumored to be on the radar of the English club with Jose Mourinho looking at options with the future of Luke Shaw uncertain at Old Trafford.
United have been made to use makeshift defenders at the position with Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo constantly slotting in for the injury ridden Shaw.
The addition of Tierney to the squad would add some much needed depth as well as provide more options for Mourinho to choose from while finalizing his backline.
The 20 year old has earned plaudits from pundits for his performances for the Scottish club this season. Brendan Rodgers’ faith in him was repaid exceptionally well as Celtic dominated the domestic championships.
The season gone by saw Celtic complete the domestic treble. And Rodger’s side remained unbeaten throughout the course of the Scottish Premiership which capped off a successful season.
A move for Tierney would allow more competition in the side as the Scot is highly rated at Celtic. Moreover, with the future of Shaw hanging in balance, Tierney would be a great addition to the squad if the Portuguese gaffer decides to let go off Shaw.
Latest reports suggest that United have been planning a deal for him behind the doors. It is believed that the Red Devils sent three scouts to specifically watch the Scot play in the World Cup Qualifier against England at Hampden Park.
Tierney is believed to command a fee somewhere around £17 million. And with Mourinho having sent in scouts to watch him in action only suggests that an offer for him might be on the cards. With his whole career in front of him, Tierney might not be a bad deal after all.
