Celtic news: Charlie Nicholas on Celtic and Dembele


Charlie Nicholas has advised Celtic to sell Moussa Dembele if a bid of £20million is submitted to the club in January.

Despite plenty of speculation surrounding the French under-21 international no bids have yet been made, but if one is made then Nicholas believes that the Hoops must accept the offer if the price is right, as the player “wants to move on”.

“Moussa now looks as though he wants to move on. That was certainly the impression he gave at the end of the Old Firm game before the winter break as he wandered round the pitch waving to the crowd” Nicholas said on the Daily Express website.







“Celtic are in a strong position, as they don’t need to sell him, but they don’t hold all the aces because if the player wants to go then you don’t want left with an unhappy striker once the transfer window closes.”

“I can’t see any of England’s big guns coming in for him, but if an offer of £20million was made then Celtic should accept it.”

First-team ace Dembele has been a revelation since he joined the Bhoys in 2016, scoring 32 goals in his first season as the Hoops clinched the treble.

This season due to injuries and squad rotation he hasn’t been as prolific, but has still scored nine goals.
