Bernard Hopkins: ‘Anthony Joshua not a superstar yet’

Former two-weight world champion Bernard Hopkins believes that Anthony Joshua is not a superstar yet ahead of the Englishman’s fight against Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev in October.

Former two-weight world champion Bernard Hopkins has said that Anthony Joshua is not a superstar yet, and must prove himself against the likes of American Deontay Wilder.

Joshua faces a bout against Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev in Cardiff on October 28 after defeating boxing veteran Wladimir Klitschko in April.

Former undisputed middleweight champion Hopkins believes that the Englishman is capable of more but must prove himself against the United States’ best fighters.

“What [Joshua] needs to do is to come to America and fight the top champions, if they are willing to fight. The top contenders, if they are willing to fight,” Hopkins told reporters.
