Video: Andy Halliday Reveals Richard Gough’s Scottish Cup Advice is Still Ringing in His Ears
Andy Halliday has revealed the advice that Rangers legend Richard Gough gave him prior to the 2016 Scottish Cup final against Hibs: “you remember the ones you lose more than the ones you win”.
The Light Blues host Falkirk in this weekend’s Scottish Cup quarter-finals, with all eyes on whether Graeme Murty‘s team can continue their fine run of form by securing a spot in the semi-finals.
And while Rangers are expected to have too much for the Bairns at Ibrox, Halliday insists a conversation he had with Gough about losing cup finals has stuck with him.
Halliday was of course on the losing side when Hibs pulled off a stunning 3-2 victory over Rangers at Hampden two years ago… a result which the 26-year-old admits he’s looking to rectify this season.
In comments posted by Rangers’ official Twitter page, Halliday explained how Gough spoke with him ahead of the final against Hibs.
He also added that the current crop of players don’t want to feel the same way as they did after losing to Alan Stubbs’ side:
🎙️ AH: Richard Gough gave me advice after my last final and told us you remember the ones you lose more than the ones you win, I can see where he is coming from and the next time we get to a cup final we don’t want to feel that way again.

Gough is of course one of the most…
